Background       

After leaving school the teenage victim (Marie) was attacked by three males, also teenagers, as she walking to a car park.

When they got to her one of them grabbed her from behind and the other two grabbed her from the front, on tried to put his hand up her skirt and one put his hand on her breast. They then fled the scene and the victim explained to her mother what had happened. This was reported to the Police and led to a Neighbourhood Justice Panel (NJP). Case Study: Attempted Robbery and Assault

Background

James’ offence was attempted robbery. The victim in this case was known to James, as they had previously attended the same school. James approached the victim from behind and demanded that he hand over his mobile phone. When he refused, James threatened to stab him and snap his neck.  This was a case referred to us by the local Youth Offending Service regarding the interfering/tampering with a motor vehicle at a local car dealership. Theft from a shop

Background to Case: This case was referred to us by the OM of the offender. The offence was carried out the offender and her boyfriend when they stole items from a shop.

This case was referred to us by the Police, involving racial abuse towards a family in a fast food restaurant. Background to Case:

This case was referred to us by the city Youth Offending Team regarding the burglary of a local couple, Susan and Stephen. The offence was committed by three offenders; two of whom were young offenders and one who was an adult offender, Kyle, 18. The YOT caseworker had already conducted RJ with the two young offenders but was unable to conduct it with Kyle as he was technically ‘out of her remit’. We decided to work this case jointly. After Paula’s garage was targeted twice for a burglary Paula felt as though she had been left with some emotional worries, and fears of safety. Shop theft

Background

After relapsing on a drug treatment course John had fallen into his old habits of shop lifting in order to feed his drug habit. He states he was ‘angry at the world’ for letting himself down and whilst being apprehended by a security guard for taking some of the stores goods he just “lost it” and threw the security guard into a cupboard causing some damage and distress to the security guard and other shop staff.
