What We Do: Victim Services

Remedi take a proactive and flexible approach to providing support for victims of crime and anti social behaviour. We offer telephone, text, on line and face to face support to meet the individual needs and preferences of the service user.

What you can expect from our Victim Services

We can provide you with practical and emotional help in the following ways:

  • Someone to talk to and listen to you.
  • Someone to help you access a wide range of specialist support agencies.
  • Someone to help you with a Criminal Injuries compensation claim.
  • Someone to assist with whatever you need to help you cope and recover from the crime.

We work with a wide range of specialist support providers across the county and can provide any help you might need in accessing these services. Whatever level of help you need, that’s what we are here to provide.

You can give us a call, an email, a text or we can undertake a home visit- whatever is best for you and we will listen to what you have to say. We will then agree with you how best we can provide the help you need. If you need something that we cant personally provide we WILL find that service for you.

All support will be provided at your own pace and only ever with your consent.

We don’t believe in doing things TO people we believe in doing things with them.

All services are free and confidential.

Remedi currently provide these services across Derbyshire, funded by the office of the Police and Crime Commissioner.

Here is what some people engaging with the service have had to say….

“Thank you so much, I have had no help, support or communication and have been left feeling so fearful. You have gone above and beyond for me and I am so grateful and I will now be able to relax and sleep at night thanks to your support.”

“It has been brilliant and exactly what I needed. You have gone at my pace and it has been good to decide face to face or phone support. You have been perfect, I can’t find fault with anything you have done.”

“I have really enjoyed the support I have received and you have gone over and above with keeping in touch and checking on my safety and wellbeing. This has been really appreciated.”

“Thank you, you’re an amazing listener and it’s really helped me get things off my chest. I always worry that I’m bothering my family talking about it, but speaking to you has given me the chance to offload guilt free!”

In addition to this core or ‘generic’ victim service Remedi have developed a targeted/dedicated specialist support service to work alongside it for children and young people who are victimised. This service is called ‘Got Your Back’.

Our Got Your Back service provides the full range of support as detailed above for anyone under 18 at a pace and style that is appropriate to meet their needs.

Remedi currently provide these services across Derbyshire and Cheshire (funded by the local offices of the Police and Crime Commissioners for those regions).

Please see the separate Got Your Back page for more details: www.gotyourback.tv

Got Your Back

‘Got Your Back’ is the name of Remedi’s youth victim support service. The service is available to anyone under the age of 18 who has been victimised in anyway.

Got Your back services are currently provided in Derbyshire and Cheshire- funded by the offices of the Police and Crime Commissioner.

Here’s what some young people using the service have had to say:

“Just knowing someone is there at the other end of the phone to listen has helped me so much, thank you.”

“It is really interesting you are called Got Your Back, as going through this process has made us realise that people do actually have our backs and it means a lot.”

“Thank you for being there for my son and for us. They were dark times and I can honestly say I could not have got through it without you. We feel blessed to have met you.”

“If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be where I am now, I just know it. Thank you for helping me.”
