CASE STUDY: Posses imitation firearm with intention to cause fear

Background to Case:

The offender is wandering around the student accommodation behaving oddly, walking into rooms and saying he is god. The victims, for fear of further incident, ushered him outside and lock the door. Remedi 20th Anniversary: Case Study 17

Background       

After leaving school the teenage victim (Marie) was attacked by three males, also teenagers, as she walking to a car park.

When they got to her one of them grabbed her from behind and the other two grabbed her from the front, on tried to put his hand up her skirt and one put his hand on her breast. They then fled the scene and the victim explained to her mother what had happened. This was reported to the Police and led to a Neighbourhood Justice Panel (NJP). Remedi 20th Anniversary: Case Study 16

Case Study: Attempted Robbery and Assault

Background

James’ offence was attempted robbery. The victim in this case was known to James, as they had previously attended the same school. James approached the victim from behind and demanded that he hand over his mobile phone. When he refused, James threatened to stab him and snap his neck. CASE STUDY: ARSON WITH INTENT TO ENDANGER LIFE

On 24th November 2014, Adam, Nick and Karl set fire to black dustbins located outside a block of flats owned by the local council. The fire set alight against a door to one of the flats in the block and destroyed it (see attached photo). As a result of this offence Adam and Nick received a 3 month Youth Caution working with Stockport Youth Offending Service (YOS). Remedi 20th Anniversary Case Study 11

Background to Case:

This case was referred to us by the city Youth Offending Team regarding the burglary of a local couple, Susan and Stephen. The offence was committed by three offenders; two of whom were young offenders and one who was an adult offender, Kyle, 18. The YOT caseworker had already conducted RJ with the two young offenders but was unable to conduct it with Kyle as he was technically ‘out of her remit’. We decided to work this case jointly.
